Pure Land
“I aspire to reveal pure land through my photographic work. I am a visual poet by nature and find that Rilke’s view that the essence of poetry is to take one to the threshold where language falls away – an offering of the glimpse beyond – to apply equally to the language of the eyes.
Hence the name Oddiyan’s Gate for my work on pilgrimage: Oddiyan being the pure land of Padmasambhava, eminent in the Tibetan tradition, a non-physical space of utter clarity and purity. A fitting reflection of these passages towards the verge, the glimpse of pure land, within and without, from which these offerings of light emerge.”
